Founded in 2016 by Maddy – a local resident keen to show off a different side of the borough – East Croydon Cool is a community-led platform celebrating the place we all call home.

Our mission is simple: to help locals meet each other, discover new places, and take pride in their postcode. Because for us, “cool” is less about trends and more about connection.

In a polarised and lonely world, we bring long-standing residents and new arrivals together, helping people feel more connected to the place they live and the people around them.

We believe that finding ways to meet and talk to your neighbours isn’t just a nice extra – it’s key to enjoying where and how you live.

Through positive storytelling, inclusive events, locally inspired merch and volunteering, we champion local people, businesses and charities – and help Croydon locals (aka Croydoners/Croydonians/Croydonites!) feel proud to be home.
